Espar's HYDRONIC coolant heaters
Espar's coolant heaters work independently of the engine and thus offer a double plus: pre-heating the vehicle's passenger compartment and the engine.
The heaters are integrated in the cooling system of the engine. The thermal energy gained is then distributed through the vehicle's own heat exchanger as forced hot air and this heats the interior of the vehicle via existing air vents. The engine is warmed up with the residual heat in the cooling water.
Practical controls - such as a digital Espar timer or key fobs - make for ideal and pre-heated engines and compartment space.
Application:
BUS - Pre-Heaters for Buses
Suitable Units:
HYDRONIC 5: Engine preheat only
HYDRONIC 10: Preheat and supplemental heat for small to large buses
HYDRONIC 24: Quicker preheat in extreme cold climates
A pre-heated bus, a clear view for the driver and passengers right from the start, warmth also at the rest stop and in traffic jams are strong arguments for the powerful water heaters from Espar.
TRUCK - Cab Comfort and Engine Preheating
Suitable Units: HYDRONIC 5, HYDRONIC 10
Espar Heater Systems manufactures diesel-fired heating systems to provide cab and sleeper heat in trucks, eliminating the need to idle the engine for heat. Espar also supplies independent coolant systems for quick engine pre-heating. These systems require no electrical plug-ins and are ideal for cold weather starting.
OFF-HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT - Preheaters for Building Machines and Agricultural Vehicles
Suitable Units -
HYDRONIC 5: < 2,000 LBS / < 700 in cubed
HYDRONIC 10: 2,000 - 5,000 LBS / 700 - 1,500 in cubed
HYDRONIC 35: 5,000 - 15,000 LBS / 1,500 - 3,000 in cubed
Espar Off-Highway Equipment Heaters can provide engine preheat, cab comfort and windshield defrost. We offer two basic types for building machines and agricultural vehicles: air heaters and water heaters. Both systems satisfy the highest demands on sturdiness and cost
effectiveness.

- As soon as the heater receives its starting pulse, the following proesses are triggered by the central control unit:
- Automatic safety check
- The glow plug is warmed up
- The metering pump conveys fuel
- The burner motor starts smoothly
- The fan delivers combustion air
- Fuel-air mixture ignites (flame formation)
- The hot combustion gases flw through the heat exchanger that delivers the heat to the coolant system of the vehicle's engine
- The heater is contrlled electronically and works - according to heat requirement - in several power stages
