Service Tips
Keep Your AC System Cleaned for Proper Function
Air Conditioning systems need to be properly maintained. The cleanliness of your condenser and evaporator coils can affect the performance of your system.  Clean your condenser and evaporator coils monthly to prevent loss of capacity and further damage created by excessive heat.

Best Diagnostic Tool for your AC System? Your Hands.

Your primary diagnostic tools are with you all the time: your hands.  For example, a properly functioning receiver-drier should be warm to the touch. If it’s cold when the system is running, the dryer probably has moisture or a restriction inside. (It’s normal for frosting to occur during the recovery process).

Check the hoses. With the system running, a high-side hose should be hot (don’t grasp the hose—use the back of your hand to feel for heat). With the system in a static state, palpate the hose to gauge its firmness. Hoses tend to deteriorate from the inside out, shedding debris into the refrigerant or coolant. A spongey hose is a sign that it’s weak and should be replaced.

“Touch and feel aren’t going to replace your diagnostics equipment,”
says Frank Burrow, manager of warranty and product support for Red Dot. “But it shows that you don’t need special skills or tools to determine whether the system is functioning or needs more attention.”

Secondary Fuel Filtration and Priming System

Introduction of on-road Ultra Low Diesel and Bio-Diesel fuel have increased microbial growth in the fuel. Thermo King has developed a secondary fuel filter to capture the microbes to prevent inlet screen clogging that ultimately leads to unit failure.

ARBER Question & Answer
California requires all TRUs based in California to be registered in ARBER. Any company operation a California-based TRU that is not registered in ARBER may be subject to a fine.  Registration is voluntary for TRUs based outside of California.  However, many non-California owners that frequently enter California choose to register their TRUs in ARBER to speed up the inspection process.

We are aware some customers have delayed registering their equipment as they were confused as to what engine year they should be registering.
